Juliea's Mama Munchies are a delicious way to encourage a healthy milk supply. Made with all natural ingredients like brewers yeast and oatmeal which help nursing mothers produce more milk and generally healthy ingredients such as flax seed meal, hemp protein and coconut oil. All of these ingredients come together to create a tasty cookie that is more like a healthy snack for busy, nursing mamas.
"After working in a lactation consultant's breastfeeding boutique/clinic I realized that there are many women who struggle to maintain their supply once they return to work or school. I believe, unfortunately, that this is often the main reason women quit nursing altogether. Many have a difficult time keeping up with their caloric intake, and many (like me) also have a difficult time remembering to take supplements to keep up their supply. So, when I heard of "breast milk cookies" I was very intrigued. The first thing that crossed my mind was "now THERE is something I won't forget to take!". I looked up the basic recipe (found below), made my own version of them until they were perfect and then passed them out to the women in my support group and in my life. The results were undeniable. Some women started literally leaking within 30 minutes. Since then, I have enjoyed making them for mothers and my whole family enjoys eating them, too. They are really just a much healthier version of any other homemade cookie I would make. So - NO - they don't "make" people lactate who aren't already or trying to, and, no - there isn't breast milk IN the cookies either." - Juliea Paige

"I only ate half of it (my puppy stole the other half, so I don't know what will happen with that . . . ) but my milk DOUBLED tonight when I pumped! I would love that recipe when you have a chance - it really worked, plus it was a good cookie!"
"I definitely saw an improvement on my supply and on my letdown. It was really slow to come and after I ate the cookies, it was back to normal. We even got to nurse at the ZOO with NO problems last weekend! :0)"
"Thanks again to Juliea for the fabulous "breast milk" cookies that she brought for our group this morning. (I know, I was a bit concerned about this being an actual ingredient at first, too, but she promises it's not!)"
"I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical, but I made this the other night and noticed a difference the next day at the pump. Very tasty, but these are dangerous to have around! :)"
Anything that can be done to make a mothers nursing experience better and easier is always a good thing. This is why the recipe is and always will be freely provided here. We encourage anyone to make these for themselves at any time! For the rest of us who have a difficult time gathering all of these ingredients - or the motivation - Crowning Lotus is proud to provide delicious cookies and mixes.

Mama Munchies Cookie Recipe
1 cup of butter, preferably Olivio or another olive oil type butter, one with flaxseed in it has added health benefits - you may also use some coconut oil instead (I replace 1/4 the butter with Coconut Oil)
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
4 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal (found at health food stores)
2 large eggs, using eggs with omega in it is beneficial, but not required
1 tsp of vanilla
2 cups of flour, whole wheat flour is recommended
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of oats (oatmeal, not instant though), thick cut work best
1 cup or more of chocolate chips, peanut butter chips or any that you like
2-4 tablespoons of brewers yeast - it must be brewers yeast
2 tablespoons of Hemp Protein (this is something that I added to my cookies - the recipe does not call for it)
