Traditional Zulu or Bangkok Belly Binding Session
Belly Binding is a traditional belly-wrapping method that relieves the strain from physical changes that occur with vertical abdominal muscles and organs during pregnancy and delivery. The added support of this wrapping session provides comfort and aids in recovery time, including for the intensive healing required after c-section. Zulu Belly Binding is like being wrapped warm comfort and support, it feels like you've been put back together after being taken apart....and in a way this is true.
Sessions with our trained and certified professionals starts with a basic relaxation and alignment session as taught through Zulu Tradition and then wrapping the abdomen snugly to be worn over the next day or two as desired by the mother and we also teach the mother how to wrap herself. The process takes about 1-1.5 hours total. In this session, birth processing, light postpartum doula support, are included.
