A Postpartum Doulais a trained, non-medical professional, who provides practical, confidential, non-judgemental, physical and emotional support to a family following a birth or adoption. Postpartum Doulas serve as an extra set of well-trained, trustworthy helping hands available to assist the entire family in their home during the postpartum period. A Postpartum Doula's goal is to work herself out of a job by encouraging and supporting parents' efforts to increase their knowledge, confidence and family harmony.
